L’Artisan Parfumeur is a French niche perfume house that offers a unique range of sense that has been inspired by nature. The target market consists of discerning shoppers who are looking for a more engaging and theatrical perfume experience. These people respond fragrances that are light, airy, fresh, modern, unusual, and wearable.

The concept behind the packaging revolves around the idea of ‘internal strife’. This is the struggle of two contradictory emotions and deals with the constant questioning of one’s

self worth, actions and weather one is doing

the right or wrong thing.

Therefore the audience must embrace and celebrate ‘the shadow within them, as that is what it means to be human. This is reflected

in the packaging designs. The use of illustration celebrates the notion of ‘the shadow’ through

a more positive light so as not to alienate the target audience. In this case the shadow

is represented by various animals,

each pertaining to the specific scent.

The eagle represents passion whilst the peacock represents love. A dear has been illustrated for excitement and a fish

for elegance.
